This Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 was originally supplied by Robins & Day Peugeot, Rochester on 3rd August 1989 and is presented in scarce Futura Grey metallic with red Quartet half-leather seats and a contrasting red carpet. Under the bonnet resides a naturally aspirated 1.9-litre inline-four engine producing around 128bhp through a five-speed manual transmission. With some nice features such as 15-inch ‘Speedline’ alloy wheels, a sliding sunroof, central locking, electric windows and the original Philips radio cassette head unit, this hot hatch presents remarkably well.

Currently displaying 89,000 miles, the 205 GTI has been enthusiast-owned for the past nineteen years, and has clearly been very well cared for. Everywhere you look on this example, things are clean, fresh and well-kept. The exterior is very impressive with even paint finish throughout and the body panels appearing flush and straight. The classic ‘Speedline’ alloys are recently refurbished and shod in recent new Toyo Proxes tyres. The cabin in excellent, clean condition. The plastic dashboard has resisted cracking and discolouration, and the controls and other switchgear are presented in fine order. The engine bay, boot and underbody all appear in very good condition. The 1.9-litre engine is sprightly, pulling well through all five gears and braking effectively. The gear changes are smooth without any crunches. The engine and running gear have clearly been well maintained throughout the car's life.

This 205 GTI has an impressive MOT history record and has passed every MOT since 2012 first-time, without any advisories. The car is sold newly serviced and MOT and also benefits from cambelt and waterpump replacements less than 1,000 miles ago. Supplied with the 205 GTI are two sets of keys and a comprehensive history file dating back to the point of first registration including the original owners handbooks and stamped service book.

I have just sold my 2001 Rover Mini Cooper Sport to Phil Mires. During the process, I have been impressed with the professional attitude and genuine support received. I was very impressed by his knowledge and vision. First class methodology and extremely prompt payment make this endorsement easy to write. I wish him every success for the future.

Phil is a really genuine, honest, respectful and polite man to deal with. He was very flexible and made our transaction very smooth, even completing all the paperwork and kept me fully informed throughout. I would not hesitate to use the company again. Thank you Phil.

Gemma Page

From start to finish Phil was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Knowledgeable, professional and kind. I absolutely adore my new (but old!) Mini Cooper. She's a beauty! Would definitely recommend and if I'm in the market for a classic again, Phil Mires Classic Cars would be my first port of call.
